What does Shadow & Ego State Work bring to Spaceholding?
We created this work because again and again inside Connect and our transformation work, we saw how powerful things become when Shadow Work is included. Working in a team of responsible adults becomes possible. Collaboration without hierarchy becomes natural. Thrive Culture can grow and sustain itself. Transformative Spaces deepen. Relationships expand instead of burning out or staying small.

Working consciously with the different Ego States and with the Shadow Guide brings another layer to Space Holding: recognizing the different parts and identifications operating in ourselves and others, while developing a new relationship with the Shadow World. The work with the Shadow Guide is also an initiation into adulthood, including deep practices for integrating these forces with Consciousness and Love.
What this Act includes
Ego States Work + Shadow Guide Work
Ego States Work
Who is holding the steering wheel?
We have many different parts—a whole zoo of them. In this work, we use 7 primary Ego States as a practical map for recognizing which part of us is relating, reacting, speaking, or holding the steering wheel.
These different parts developed through different situations, adaptations, decisions, beliefs and experiences. The work is not about deciding which one is the “real you,” but becoming able to recognize your X on the map—from which position of identification you are relating.
For a Space Holder, this also opens the possibility of recognizing the different Ego States operating in the people you hold Space for.

Shadow Guide Work
An initiation into adulthood
The biggest challenge in working with your Shadow World is learning not to judge it, dismiss it as “bad,” or criticize yourself for having one at all.
In this Act, you come into direct contact with your Shadow Guide—the “King” of your Shadow World—discover its unique tricks and patterns, and begin forging a different relationship with it.
The work includes deep practices for integrating the Shadow with Consciousness and Love, redefining your relationship with your Shadow World, and beginning to direct your Shadow Guide toward tasks and missions that serve your Conscious Purpose.
